Summer Programs and Fellowships

Benenson Awards in the Arts

funds for fees, equipment, supplies, travel, production, and other expenses for arts-centered projects/internships

Deans' Summer Research Fellowship

up to $3,000 for a proposed summer research project, for Trinity students who will be enrolled the following fall

DCCE Civic Summer Research Fellowship

up to $3,000 for Duke undergraduate to translate and deepen their prior civic engagement experience into research projects

Howard Hughes Research Fellows

$4300 stipend and housing for eight-week summer program in biomedical research for rising sophomores

Howard Hughes VIP Program

$5,000 stipend for ten-week summer research program in select biological sciences labs

Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowships

Stipends and research support for summer and academic year research for students intending to go to graduate school in specific disciplines

TGen-Duke Biomedical Futures Program

Ten-week intensive internship at TGen, the Translational Genomics Research Institute, in Phoenix, Arizona

URS Independent Study Grants

up to $400 in project expenses for students enrolled in faculty-supervised research  independent study courses or the equivalent

Dannenberg Awards

for students at the beginning of their undergraduate career.  http://trinity.duke.edu/academic-advising-center/dannenberg-grants.

URS Creative Arts Grants

up to $400 in project expenses for students enrolled in faculty-supervised independent study courses or the equivalent in the creative arts

URS Travel Grants

up to $400 for students to present the results of their Duke research at a national or regional meeting of a professional organization.

URS Assistantships

up to $400 for faculty to employ an undergraduate as a research assistant without course credit.
