Generous grants from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute to Trinity College have made possible multiple research programs for undergraduates since 1991. The VIP (Vertically Integrated Partners) Program for advanced undergraduates and graduate students is funded through 2010.
With the Howard Hughes Medical Institute's grants, Duke has also enriched curricular offerings in biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering and mathematics.
