Dannenberg Awards
Through the generosity of the Richard B. Dannenberg Endowment, the Academic Advising Center makes funds available to support participation by undeclared first-year and undeclared sophomore students in ongoing research or other serious projects of original scholarship and of mutual interest to students and faculty.
On application jointly by the student and his/her faculty mentor to the Undergraduate Research Support Office, $350 may be allocated to support students' expenses for participating in special projects. In the past, students have assisted in data gathering and organization for faculty members' field or library research, received training in specific techniques appropriate to their own tentative curricular and career interests, attended conferences with a faculty member and assisted with artistic productions organized by members of the Duke community. Please note that funding may not be used as student salary.
Premajor advisors who have questions about this use of Dannenberg Endowment funds are encouraged to contact Dean Michele Rasmussen.
