Current Research Project: I am deeply interested in the drug design process, particularly in the development and optimization of candidate molecules. This process includes designing candidate drug molecules and their pharmacological characterization. My research has taken advantage of how minute structural changes can influence pharmacological activity, efficacy, and safety. Ultimately, I am fascinated by how pharmacology has the potential to improve patient outcomes.

How did he get involved in research: I independently went through different departments at Duke and looked into what each PI was working on to see what really interested me. After making a list of labs I liked, I cold emailed them. That led to interviews with PIs where I got to learn more about both their past and current research projects. The URS Office and Dr. Harrell has supported me along the way.
