Current Research Project: I’m interested in how research can move from the lab bench toward real-world applications that improve health and medicine. My work at Duke has focused on questions in immunology and pharmacology, but I’m excited by any project that combines science with innovation. I enjoy exploring how small discoveries can eventually make a big impact, whether through new therapies, technologies, or ways of thinking about disease. Overall, I want my research experiences to prepare me to bridge basic science and translational outcomes.
How she got involved with research: I first started research through MUSER during my first semester, which made it easier to connect with a lab as a new student. Later, I reached out to faculty directly through cold emailing. These experiences showed me that there isn’t just one “right” way to get started—you just need to be proactive and open to learning. Along the way, the URS Assistantship Awards also supported and encouraged me to continue my research journey.
