Current Research Project: I am currently a research assistant in the McCafferty Lab, working directly alongside Dr. Dewey McCafferty in areas of biochemistry, chemical biology, and organic chemistry working to synthesize biological assays that aim to contribute to literature in cancer therapy and neurodegenerative diseases.
How he got involved with research: Dr.McCafferty was my instructor for Organic Chemistry I, and he was able to create a bridge between the material we learned in class and his own work in the laboratory. His research fascinated me from that point on, so we discussed the possibility of joining his research group. I have been working with him for the past 3 semesters, and will continue to work with his group for these next 2 semesters before I graduate.
