Current Research Project: I am currently conducting Insect Endocrinology Research in the Biology department at Duke and Global Health Research based in Pamlico County North Carolina. My wet lab Insect research examines the role of different hormones and growth proteins on insect wing development to better understand endocrinology pathways. My Global Health fieldwork research focuses on the assessment of Telehealth programs in rural North Carolina Communities.
How they got involved with research: I started my research journey through the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program at the end of freshman summer. That summer I conducted organic synthesis Chemistry research to combat chemoresistance. During my sophomore year, my interests changed and my research pivoted toward the Biology and Global Health Departments.
