Current Research Project: My research uses digital humanities methods to study 20th century US history, especially on California's oil history. I examine them using Natural Language Processing on historical US newspapers to see how media between 1892 and 1930 rhetorically described California's oil industry. I'm also involved in research with the Duke Libraries of Asian American literature and history.

How he got involved with research: I'm the team lead of a Bass Connections team (AsteXT) as well as its attached Data+ and Code+ summer teams (I'm the first undergrad to be a team lead for Data+).

I'm also a research assistant at the DAHVC Lab under the Art, Art History, and Visual Studies Department.

I was also a CS+ research intern with the Computer Science department.
