Current Research Project: My research project focuses on elucidating the role of Histone 2B ubiquitination in metabolic adaptation of yeast cells, with possible impact on human physiology and cancer research. Specifically, I focus on understanding how the enzymes that ubiquitinate and deubiquitinate Histone 2B drive different levels of this mark under different metabolic conditions.
How he got involved with research: When I came to Duke, I already knew I wanted to explore research opportunities here. I reached out to several labs whose research appealed to me by sending them emails, and eventually joined the Silva Lab at the end of my sophomore year.
