Pronouns: she/her
Current Research Project: I am focused on exploring biology with a variety of classes and research experiences while building a foundation of knowledge to apply to medical school. Currently, I am working in the Bilbo lab, which focuses on neuroimmunology. I have also worked in the Drea Lab, an evolutionary anthropology lab that specializes in lemur physiology, and in the Berg Lab at UNCCH, a genetic variant biocuration lab.
How she got involved with research: I was fortunate enough to have Dr. Jessica Harrell as my freshman year advisor, and she helped counsel me on how and when to join a lab at Duke. I also forged a strong relationship with Dr. Lydia Greene, who was my academic engagement advisor in the natural sciences. She was the mentor who originally connected me to Dr. Drea, too. I made appointments with my dean, Dr. Claire Siburt, who talked to me about various premedicine requirements like chemistry and advised me on managing my coursework with part-time lab work.
