Pronouns: he/him
Current Research Project: At the Med School, I began in the wet lab, studying mast cells and pain pathways through live-cell imaging and molecular assays. Over time, I shifted toward building automated pipelines in R to analyze GCaMP activity and cell segmentation, turning hours of manual work into reproducible workflows. That transition from pipetting at the bench to coding reproducible pipelines has become the centerpiece of my research identity. My broader interests lie in using computational tools to accelerate biomedical discovery and make data more interpretable for policy and clinical impact.
How he got involved with research: I got my start through a Duke Student Employment posting for a position in the Med School, not through connections or prior experience. That role became my entry point into neuroscience research, where I learned how to pair hands-on lab work with analysis. From there, I branched out into projects at the Law School and Pratt, each time carrying forward the skills and curiosity I built from that first chance.
