Current Research Project: Currently I am working in the Chen lab where we’re looking at different things that effect psoriasis such as ion channels or nerves. Previously my project examined how blocking an ion channel displayed moderating effects on the itch associated with psoriasis which was subsequently published. Now, I am working on a new project that focuses on how stimulating the vagus nerve may also have moderating effected on the itch associated with psoriasis.
How she got involved with research: I cold emailed various PIs and met with multiple labs until I was able to find one that fit my desired hours, autonomy, mentorship, and ability to work on future projects.
