Current Research Project: I'm very interested in the study of aging, age-related degenerative diseases, cardiology, etc. In my current lab, I'm exploring ways to create a better model for heart failure, which is more true to real-life with biventricular dysfunction. In the past, I've also worked on a project (in high school) creating a model to study TET enzymes and DNA demethylation (an integral part of the study of aging and genetics) through Next-generation Nanopore sequencing and bioinformatics, presenting it at several fairs and conferences, including the Regeneron International Science Fair and the State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research Symposium.
How she got involved with research: My first semester at Duke, I was mainly cold emailing professors, though I didn't get many responses. In my second semester, I used the tool Muser and found my current lab
