Current Research Project: My current work in the Ji Lab focuses on integrating computational and neurobiological approaches to study stress, neuroinflammation, and behavior in animal models. I use deep learning–based 3D motion tracking, multi-camera systems, and transcriptomic analyses to connect molecular changes with behavior. Broadly, I am interested in neuroscience, computational biology, and translational research that can inform treatments for neurological and psychiatric conditions.

How he got involved with research: I joined Duke research through the Ji Lab in Neurobiology, where I combined my background in neuroscience and computer science to support projects in behavior tracking and RNA-sequencing analysis. I was motivated to get involved because I wanted to apply computational methods to biological questions while also gaining hands-on lab experience. Support from faculty mentors and the Undergraduate Research Support Office has guided me in deepening my involvement and pursuing independent questions within ongoing projects.
