2020 DSRF Award Winner Griffin McDaniel
My project focused on understanding the biochemical differences between pediatric and adult coagulation proteins and their functional consequences. I was able to work with pediatric and adult plasma samples, perform basic science analyses in the lab, and consider the clinical outcomes of the patients. I enjoyed the opportunity to collaborate with physicians, scientists, residents, and medical students throughout this project. Working on this project helped me to see the full cycle of research, including the proposal, experimental planning and execution, data analysis and interpretation, and presenting the work as a poster and thesis.
