The Richard Macksey National Undergraduate Humanities Research Symposium provides hundreds of students across all fields of the humanities the opportunity to share their work in the professional presentation style most common to their fields. 2022 will be our third year hosting the symposium, and we have had over 1,000 student presenters.

The 2022 Macksey Symposium will be hosted virtually and live on April 8-10 for registered presenters and guests. Links will be sent out 48 hours before the conference to the custom site. Please check back for a complete schedule later this fall.

Attendees also participate in professionalization and recruitment events during the three-day symposium, including panels on graduate admissions, careers in publishing, and networking. This is the first conference of its kind: there has been no other national platform for undergraduates in the humanities to share their work. We also proudly support creative student projects and have been happy to host students reading original poetry, sharing original films, and presenting other creative endeavors.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, 2022 will be our third year hosting the conference virtually. All participants have had the opportunity to submit their work to a journal of conference proceedings. Their publications have been viewed over 15,000 times so far. Our peer-reviewed journal of proceedings, the Macksey Journal, is now online and includes the 2020 and 2021 volumes.

Registration is available at https://krieger.jhu.edu/macksey-symposium/ until March 11, 2022.
